It is my great pleasure to thank all of you who have been involved in the work of the Institute over this past year. • Design Teams: Jordie Burton, Jess Flynn, Eric Ennis, Tori Rooney, June Porter, Marilyn Struthers, Jack Vanderkooy, Carol Merton, Nola Marion, Liz Buckton.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Jeff Fletcher, Nick Cloet, Catherine Daw, Rebecca Danard, Nicole Yardy, Ted Crysler, Kathleen Caswell, Gerard Dusastre.
  • Board of Directors: June Porter, Larry Hogarth, Jordie Burton, Tori Rooney, and Eric Ennis.

And, a deep, heartfelt thank you to the very special people, partners, and sponsors listed below, who have financially supported our 2024 programming and kept it free and accessible for all!

Here’s a quick summary of this year’s highlights:

  • We’ve been busy connecting people: Hosting three virtual events and co-hosting three in-person gatherings where we sparked ideas and action around social change.
  • We dug into some big issues: Publishing reports like the 2024 Regional Community Affordable Housing Action Plan and diving into research to ensure the collaborative Green Economy Hub Pilot Project is exactly what our region needs.
  • We’ve built strong collaborations and multi-sector partnerships with groups like the Collingwood Climate Action Team, Wasaga Beach Climate Action Team, Climate Action Now Network in The Blue Mountains, the Towns of Collingwood and The Blue Mountains, Grey County, and Green Economy Canada to launch the Green Economy Hub Pilot and we are also working with the Blue Mountains Ratepayers’ Association Housing Strategy Working Group so we can work together on the complex issue of Affordable Housing.

Your financial Program Support goes directly into supporting our local, sustainable economy by hiring local services and venues; and talent for communications, virtual and live events, newsletters, website, and social media. Thank you!

After 6 years as Chair of the Institute, I am stepping off the Board. It has been an incredible journey with all of you. The most wonderful part of being involved in the Institute is meeting so many extraordinary people.

Thank you everyone – wishing you a wonderful, inspiring holiday season!

With gratitude,

Roz
